Packers lose

I’m sorry. I don’t have the energy to defend my team any longer. It is a losing battle. It is one thing to be a fan with your friends, but quite another to try to appease the masses. I can’t take the heat any longer. Thanks for keeping Packernet around this long. Jon won. I lost.

See ya…

I have disagreed with TT’s on many areas in the past and think he is a horrible GM. Now we will see how his philosophy of getting better from within, his trading down in the draft (finding a diamond in the rough), his lack of free agent signings will pan out. I am disgusted that he traded BF, yes, I admit it.. but his decisions are going to hurt GB for a while and I think it’s gonna get alot worse before it gets better. He needs to be fired! He is a joke! He could have signed Faneca, Crumpler or Shockey, signed Ayanbadejo, Lamont Jordan, kept Williams, and/or made any number of other moves to improve this team and give us some depth. Hey TT what if you have some injuries….? who is gonna provide quality depth? What are you going to do with the excess salary cap $$? Maybe you shold start looking at the “football part of it” not the interaction of the guys coming off the field…

  • Roy Jamison

Al, we’ll all chip in and get you a King-Size box of Kleenex.

  • JeffN

The problem is the offensive line is keeping the defensive line on the field too long.

Zone Blocking – for the loose (FTL)

Anybody want to guess how long it is going to take to get the offensive line straightened out?

  • RayL

I have figured it out….Our pad level is too low!!!

  • Roy Jamison

The train has left the station and all the Wall Street guys are on it.

  • Lew

Enough with the low blows Roy J…I am one of those Wall St guys

And by the way, Devils Ad, what dead horse is that you are referring to? The fact that we traded a future HOF QB who went 13-3 and finished 2nd in the MVP voting for a “nice” QB who has “upside” but obviously is not able to win games on his own the way the other guy did? Nope, I will be beating that horse until MM and TT are gone and everyone realizes in hindsight how much the team screwed up. We lost to frickin Hotlanta at home!!!

Do we have deeper issues than QB problems? Yes of course- my point was that everyone who blindly backed management in the most high profile decision the franchise has ever made should take a close look at said management and a number of the decisions they have made- including the one I am not supposed to talk about. And comments like, “The Pack are simply a team that are their own worst enemy right now” just proves my point. Teams that “are their own worst enemy” is just another way of saying “bad team”.

RayL that fantasy football thinking is a waste of time. Just how would Crumpler have helped this team? And yeah J Shocky would really want to retire in GB. Faneca is a great OG but the Jets threw 21million at him up front and barring injury he’s got what two three years left, Wahle and Rivera signed big contracts with other teams and are all but out of football.
Our offence didn’t look that bad, and it was not all vanilla. Just about everyone caught a ball even J Jones. R Grant had the same 4.6 avg yrds per run as Turnner , but the Falcons were dedicated to it.
But the defence needs to mix it up a bit. Could we use a different coordinater, yeah maybe. Bottom line is last week our o-line was spewing chunks and this week the d-line was. If we can get rid of the penalities and play four quarters together we might be able to turn it around. We’ll see this week against a desperate team trying to find out why they are sucking azz. GO PACK GO

Lew, I can see that you are completely frustrated and pissed at current management for what they’ve done in the past and where they’ve taken the team to this point. You really think firing MM and TT would solve our immediate issues? I don’t. And about “he who should not be mentioned”, again, comparing apples to oranges. You’re telling me that this team, as it stands today, would be a totally different team with “he who should not be mentioned”? I think you’re overlooking a simple point, the QB is NOT the problem. And if “he who should not be mentioned” were at the helm, he probably would have been knocked out of the game by now considering how well our OL has been keeping people out of our backfield. Thank God AR is a mobile QB as I think that’s saved his life a few times. I really can’t say the same for “he who should not be mentioned”. I’ve watched a few Jets games, ol’ boy can’t run anymore even though he gives it mighty go.

So blaming TT, right on, I’m there with you, blaming MM, can’t agree with you there cause he’s doing everything he can with the way TT runs the show, blaming the DC, I can agree with you there as well, doesn’t seem like he’s using all this talent we supposedly have on D to get the job done. Did TT handle the whole “he who should not be mentioned” thing badly? He sure did, and he’ll sure fry for it someday, but for now we’ll have to wait to see where this season goes. I honestly believe he’s in the hot seat regardless of what happens with our team this year so I’d just as soon we do good and MM figures out the combination to this puzzle so we can move forward and start looking like a team that went 14-4 last year. But “he who will not be mentioned” couldn’t change what’s happening right now and would probably be out due to some unfortunate accident in the backfield caused by a missed blitz or whiffed block by the OL and his not-so-mobile-thirty-eight-damn-near-thirty-nine-year-old legs.

I’m laughing at the people quoting “The train has left the station.” Hahaha!

That’s one of those infamous phrases like Sarah Palin’s “Bridge to nowhere.”

I have to fine something to laugh about in all this mess. :(

Jon- on the subject of grammar and spelling: None of us IS A secretary…

  • RayL

I really hope that the train leaves the “GB station” with the 3 stooges on it….does anyone remember that the Packers Management offered BF $20M to stay retired…now is that being a good steward of the money? And it is a huge insult to BF and the shareholders and every GB fan out there. Couldn’t he spend that on Alan Faneca instead? I think Faneca has more than 2-3 years…but even if your right CaliCheeze – there would be a good chance we would have a SB during that 2-3 year period. Our O-line is horrible! And there is no defending the point that we have ONLY signed free agents Frank Walker and Brandon Chillar in the last 2 years. Maybe we wouldn’t be better than 2-3 with Favre at this point….but – we could be 5-0 with Favre, Faneca, and 1 or two more upgrades, which is NOT fantasy football! It is simply improving your team.

Wow the Pack looses 3 games and everyones starts talking about the crap that happened in the off season. Looks like all the same faces that were complaining this off season have now showed up again. I’ve heard of fans that jump on the bandwagon when their team starts winning but what’s up with this come to post on Packernet bandwagon thing when the Pack starts loosing games?
