Packers at Rams Game Day

Well, at least the offense has come alive but the Packers’ defense is still not good. The worst team in the NFL is hanging around and while the Packers lead 23-14 I am not exactly confident the Packers will hang on. Kyle Boller replaced the injured and ineffective Mark Bulger and sparked the Rams. The Packers still can’t even come close to running the ball and that is going to be a major concern if it continues. Combine that with only a slight improvement in the pass blocking department and the Packers still have a long way to go on offense.

Halftime now and just for once I would like to see the team make some positive halftime adjustments. By the way, sorry for the delayed post, had to take advantage of a gorgeous fall Wisconsin day to play 18 at the County. A Packer win will make it a great day.

2:07 PM: It is officially time to panic. The Packers have come apart at the seams. The Rams will be leading soon and if then the game is over. I can’t believe what I’m seeing.

2:15 PM: The Packers are ripe for the picking today. This is going from bad to worse. Updated prediction – Rams 34, Packers 30.

2:39 PM: Well, so much for my prediction, Crosby can’t even make an extra point. At least we lead by 12 and the defense held.

3:23 PM: The Packers came back and showed some resolve to win 36-17. It was ugly, but they pulled it out. Now they face the 3-0 Vikings in Minnehaha for the NFC North division lead. Monday Night Football no less. You might not hear from me until Monday.

    Calm down PB.

It’s just difficult to follow your posts because you’re always a day late & a dollar short as they say……. Especially when you inaccurrately paraphrase my posts with your unique embellishments & exaggerations. … I’m not the only one to stake this claim about you… maybe a little introspective analysis on your part would help.

Back to football, good news if we can have Clifton back and ready to play. With some protection we should be able to take advantage of Minnesota’s secondary, the 49ers did yesterday.

I think we also have a tactical advantage in that most of our guys have practiced against Favre and should know his tendencies. Yes, he has seen our D-players, but not in the new system. If we can keep AP in check (a big if in my mind at this point) and force him to throw more than they want, I think we should get some picks as hopefully he’ll be confused by the looks.

If Peterson gets going, though, it limits the number of times he has to throw and opens play action, and I’m a little afraid for our safeties one on one especially if something happens to Collins.

I have zero confidence that we’re going to find our running game in Minnesota. IMO, the offense is going to live on die on AR’s shoulders, let’s just hope we can have some decent protection.

I liked what McCarthy said, this should be a Big Time Fun game to watch (for all the non-obsessives on this board anyway!) Aside from the Favre angle the media is going to push all week this game means alot. We win, we’re tied for the lead with the head to head victory and the road win pretty much cancels out the Cincy debacle. We lose, we’re down two games and a tiebreaker awful early in the season. That wouldn’t leave much margin for error the rest of the season. And even if Minnesota somehow implodes down the line, let’s not forget about the Bears either. I have a feeling we’re going to be cursing Jay Cutler for years to come.

Anyway, Vikes week has started, and I’m psyched about the game! Big Fun a week from tonight!

Show me where I misquoted you.

Who gives a shit about your question, again? In general, I think most Packer fans would prefer a blowout in Minnesota, but your question is about Favre, not the outcome of the game. Show me where someone is more concerned about your two bullshit scenarios than the outcome of the game. I don’t see anyone else on here calling people “pseudo fans” and obsessively bringing Favre up, Rocky, it’s just you.

And answer the MH ball washer thing, where you said it then denied saying it. Or is the distinction between ball washer and ball licker?

    Then piss off.

Ryan Grant has had some of his best games against the Vikings , in 2007 he han right over them and he was going to have a big game in Minnesota last year until McCarthy stopped running in the second half. The Vikings weakness on run defense is cutback runners like Grant , I thinkk the Packer running game is going to do very well monday.
The middle of the Viking offensive line can be exploited with Birk not there anymore.
Favre always had trouble against defenses that pressured right up the middle, our pressure defense is going to cause him trouble.
The word always was that the Packer defensive backs always gave Favre trouble in practice.
The Packers need to run the ball 27 times to slow their pass rush and to wear that defense down.
We remember Favre always had trouble against the 3-4 defense , he never could beat it in Dallas and he either lost or had to pull out late wins against the toher teams that ran it.
Will Blackmon could be big in this game as he had two touchdowns against them last year.

Getting more than a little concerned about Raji. That last posted Press-Gazette article was not very reassuring regarding the strength issue. If its a rehab situation thats one thing, but the taping techniques they use should have taken care of that. The implication was that he can’t or won’t go full steam in practice. That worries me if he has lost confidence in himself. We really need him to spell both Jolly and Pickett.

hey i’m new to posting on this blog. just discovered this site myself.
    whats the deal with Rocky70?
i mean it’s funny watching him back track and deny things he said and all but why does he continue to make the arguments he does?

fyi i am a packer fan and have been for 29 years. and i would love a blow out victory against the vikings next monday!

i would answe A or B but seeing that a win is a win i dont see the difference in the choices other than some superfical bs that rocky thinks is important.

and rocky before you tell me that i am new and i should blah blah blah read through past post blah blah blah, or that im uninformed why dont you tell me who made you the authority on everything? you sound like a insecure person. really you do.
you mustve been in love with brett because you act like he’s your ex boyfriend and you treat everyone that doesnt hate like crap and you get all pissy with them! do you do that because you can’t call your ex (bf) up and vent to him?

god your a broken record. jesus you hate bf! move on dude!

  • thomas meier

Rocky70 i am sorry to hear brett hurt you so deeply, really i am. i am sorry it had such a profound effect on you. You must not be confident in AR because if you were you would give a crap about brett! move on AR is a great QB and if brett wouldve stayed in greenbay AR wouldve probably left via free agency (which he wouldve been after this season but he signed a contract extension last seasons) so come on man. You think your the ultimate PACKER fan because you bitch about BF? or because you call people apologist?
that doesnt make you a packer fan! loving the green and gold is what makes us packer fans and everyone on here is a packer fan and no one is rooting against them!

just because i personally dont “hate” every player that doesnt play for the pack doesnt mean that i am not a fan of the packers!! it does mean that i see football as entertainment and i can keep things in perspective!

what good does it do you to bitch about bf so much and what good does it do you to try and call other people out for bs?
maybe you should get some direction in your life!

and any fool can act like a bad ass and talk smack on a blog.
funny thing is confident people dont have to act like rocky70.

rocky is critical of everyone else’s comments but he wont hold himself to the same standard??? hmmmmmm. that speaks volumes!.
