Packers can’t afford letdown today

The Green Bay Packers find themselves in the thick of the playoff race and with that brings opportunity, and pressure. A win today in Chicago over the Bears would likely leave the Packers with a stranglehold on a wild card playoff berth and maybe even a game closer to the division title. A loss and everything is up for grabs all over again. The Packers main competition for the wild card – the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys have tough games. Actually the Giants and Eagles face off in New York. The Cowboys face the red-hot Chargers in Dallas. A win by the Eagles and loss by the Cowboys, coupled with a Packers win over the Bears would leave the Packers the fifth seed in the NFC. If the 9-3 Bengals can beat the Vikings, the Packers would only be a game out in the division with three to play. Anything can happen down the stretch as the noose tightens.I think this is going to be an extremely tough game for the Packers and they may need another late drive to pull it off. Confidence is not high, but I’ll say Packers 21, Bears 20.

    I’ll say Packers win 34 – 13
I’ll give the bears credit for special teams and a turnover or two. And their fieldgoal kicker is awesome. I wish Gould played for GB.

The Bear defense isn’t what it was. Without getting turnovers they don’t have a chance.
31-17. Only because of ST’s and some crazy bounce. And, of course, our penalties.

Bears 20 Pack 17 ugly gut feeling

Buck up, guys, had a good night’s sleep and holding at 20-0 in their house. SD hot and so are we! Pickett hurts in rotation, but Raji would be rivaling Matthews if they both started the year healthy. The end is nearing and we have some young, fresh legs.

If McCarthy can’t bring the team up for the Bear game, then he can’t bring them up period. Actually, considering it’s the Bear game, they should get up on their own.

Wish Raji didn’t open his mouth, although to me it didn’t seem like he was trash talking.

    LT,

I still think you’re crazy about the shutout in Chi-town, but I hope you’re crazy like a fox! I’m thinking we win by 2 touchdowns, and am looking for a whole lot of smashing Ryan Grant and Ahman Green right down their throat.

Packers 24, Bears 10. We need to issue the beatdown to the Bears right their in Chicago! Go Pack Go!

While it would be exciting to have another Marcol TD OT game, or some last-minute Majik, I won’t be satisfied ’till we avenge 61-7. I’d love to be in full cookie-decorating mode by halftime.

I’m headed to Illinois tomorrow for a couple days. Please, guys, let me go with my head held high.

My thinking goes like this, p_b. My keys to the game.
    1) Woodson on Olson, like the first game.
    2) Matthews has done good to excellent against better.
and 3) Raji is set to prove his draft ranking.
This is a hallmark game for a Packer rookie; Soldier Field, rivalry, and none of our rookies starting today played in the openner. The kids have something to prove and will. Hester out. All we need is just a hint of decency on Special Teams. Mid-thirties and no wind, best weather in CHI in years. All Pack, could be blowout.

I don’t like FOX’s camera angle on kickoffs.

    GO PACK GO!

Whoo Hoo! Run it down their throat!

  • packer_bob

Oh I agree, LT. Could and should be a blowout, just can’t imagine pitching a shutout.

Of course, I hope you’re right–I’ll get to listen to Doug Buffone bitch and moan on local radio!

That was some BULLSHIT! Should have been a TD for Jennings, and great recognition from Rodgers to know he had a free play!
