Packers finally handling success?

When head coach Mike McCarthy was hired the first thing he said was that he was more worried about how his team would handle success than he was about not being successful in Green Bay. From the midpoint of his first year to the end of 2007 the Packers handled success fairly well. Last year, not so much. However, the Packers have now won five games in a row and in the NFL that is never an easy thing to do. But the road ahead gets a little tougher.

The Packers can clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Steelers Sunday and may even know that fact going into the game if Dallas loses Saturday night. If the Packers win Sunday they could also qualify Monday night if Washington beats the Giants. Not saying any of that is going to happen but who would have thought five weeks ago the Packers could clinch a playoff spot with two weeks to go in the season?

The Packers upset the Dallas Cowboys and never looked back. The season hung in the balance against Dallas – a loss and the Packers would have been under .500 and a playoff afterthought. The Packers were able to stun the Cowboys with a stifling defense that has carried the way to four more wins. A defense that is looking more and more like the real deal each week.

The Packers could not be facing a defending Super Champion at a worse time. The Steelers have lost five games in a row and are for all intents and purposes are out of the playoffs. The Steelers clearly overlooked the lowly Cleveland Browns in their last game and were thoroughly embarrassed. This after losing to the Raiders in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are reeling and I think the Packers will extend that losing streak, even though the Steelers will not be overlooking the 9-4 Packers.

The Packers the last two weeks have shown a new maturity not seen since at least the Sherman playoff years. What I loved about the win over the Bears was the way the Packers just kept going about their business when the tide turned against them. Against Baltimore the Packers led 17-0 at halftime and watched the Ravens jump right back to 17-14 early in the second half. The Packers led the Bears 13-0 and watched the Bears take the lead early in the second half. However, on both occasions the Packers clamped down on defense and neither team scored another point.

It was like the Ravens or Bears couldn’t do a thing on the Packers, then for two drives couldn’t be stopped, then couldn’t do a thing again. The defense adjusts and that is that. The Steelers have the best quarterback the Packers will have faced since Tony Romo but Romo doesn’t have two Super Bowl Rings like Ben Rothlisberger does. The Steelers problem is they simply can’t run the ball anymore and they have a hard time protecting the QB. Kind of plays right into the Packers’ hand, doesn’t it?

It’s only Tuesday, and confidence is neither high or low. Leaning upward. I like the McCarthy going home aspect, always worked for Holmgren, all but once anyway. Capers has ties to the Steelers too, I can’t imagine how much a victory would mean to those two. Damn! It is nice to be back in the mix. Packers-Vikings III is still a possibility.

  • Jeff

The Packers have had a pretty good record this decade playing against teams that were in the super bowl the previous year.
I remember in 2001 they beat both the Ravens and Giants

  • JeffN

I’m optimistic but still on the fence about our Packers. I have to keep seeing wins to keep my optimism. Let’s hope the Pack is the team that get’s on a hot streak in the play off this year. I guess the kind of inconsistency we saw this year and the ups and downs is characteristic of the NFL. I wonder if we see a Packers Vikings flip-flop in performance from beginning to end of season.

In any case all I gotta say is Clay Mathews…. What a stud!!!

  • Scot

Make no mistake about it, this will be a hard fought game. If the Packers can start fast like they did against Chicago, and score on their first two drives, it may deflate Pittsburgh enough for the rest of the game. I see GB doing a lot of running in this game, which will allow GB to keep eating up the clock like they have been doing in previous contests. Wear down their defense right away, and keep Ben’s offense on the sidelines and getting cold. I was mostly pleased with our special teams outing last week, with the exceptions of Crosby’s field goal miss, and Nelson not getting much on returns. I guess what I’m saying is, I’m glad they didn’t allow a long return by the Bears at a critical time in the game. Let’s hope Dallas loses Saturday night to get our guys pumped up even more for Sunday. If they can taste a playoff berth, they may play their hearts out.

  • Larry

I think the point that we are not an elite team..nor have we beaten an elite team is given. Unfortuneately we faced Minnesota early and the schedule has not provided us another measuring stick game although Sunday @ Pittsburgh is no walk in the park.

The pieces are clearly in place however for the growth to occur. The talent we have is YOUNG but still present. Obviously we’re a playoff team but not an apparent SB team..but as the NFL network says…nobody is looking to line up against them.

As long as the playoff’s are made–this season has been a success despite the outcome…we know what we have and what we need and what we need is ONE off-season away…in personnel changes AND maturity.

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Not much argument forthcoming regarding the PIT game, we should be favored. Both teams injured, but PIT in much worse shape. Contain their run, go after Big Ben, etc., etc. He is by far the toughest guy to bring down that we’ve faced, but we can keep him in the pocket. He has WRs, again, tough as nails.
Should be a repeat of the CHI game, as to how bad we want it. Another learning experience going against the SB champs no matter how banged up they are. Pride factor going for them. They were really embarased last week.
I agree with Larry in that this season is a success insofaras the installation of the new D. I would give Capers the house to keep him – he is the DC king.
Interesting quandry, come April. I’d bet upcoming is a very heavy O draft for us; like maybe 5-2 O. RB, OT, Returner, Kicker(?). Not sure about DET, but MIN will have worse position than us and CHI doesn’t have many picks. We’re ready to fill in a few holes since it looks like we’re set with starters for a while, especially on the D.

  • Three Lakes Terry

It is refreshing to see the positive posts. The Packers play has been just good enough and against difficult opponents. It appears to me that there is a vindication of TT that is ongoing. There is talent on this team. We have good young players. This probably is not a Super Bowl team but we are in the top half of the league. With the playoffs looming it is an exciting time because you just never know what will happen. We WILL have a new kicker next year. As always, I still worry alot about the coaching ability of MM. But in Packerland there should be happiness and we should be proud of our guys and what they have put together this year. The Steeler game could go either way but a win would just add luster to the year…..make no mistake about it, The Steelers have a good team.

  • Larry

Hate to jinx us but I’m not sure really how good the Steelers are…they lost to KC, Cleveland, and Oakland. Truly the bottom of the NFL barrel. The game is in Pittsburgh but frankly I view SF and Chicago as better.

My recommendation is that MM show the Tampa game 24/7…both teams can play badly and both can play well…it’s just that Pittsburgh has played badly more often…

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

PIT is decimated with injuries, Larry. Jump over to there roster and look at the IR and those held out last week. I think its about 4-5 starters.

  • roy jamison

Pittsburg is a head scratcher. Just look at their stats. Toward the tops in the AFC. They’ve lost games eerily similar to how the Pack lost them last year. To beat the Steelers in Pittsburg would be a major achievement. Tomlin, with a team that has had 10 days to get ready, is going to have his team ready to regain some respect. But, I think Capers will have the defense ready. Return to Pittsburg for MM and Capers should be interesting.

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Roy, those stats were accumulated on the way to a 6-2 record. Then the injuries – 6-10 ’08 come to mind?

  • JeffN

I would agree that the Steelers won the superbowl last year and were a great team last year. With all that being last year I would say they kind of suck this year and not even play off calibur. In any case you can still loose to a sucky team. Does Tampa Bay ring a bell? So we do need to take the Steeler’s seriously just like every other team. Still tho the Pack is expected to win this game, it would be nice to see 10 wins on our record. 11 would be soooooo much better the week after!

  • roy jamison

I wouldn’t call the Steelers a sucky team by any means. As Larry said…injuries have made a big difference, especially to Troy Polamalu. That would be similar to if Woodson went down for us. Look at their losses. Very similar to the Packers close losses last year. That usually means one or two plays and the ball game is different. Also, they beat the Vikings, something we haven’t done…yet this year. And, the odds guys have the Steelers as one point favorites.

  • iccyfan

I think somebody opined this in the last thread so it’s not original material on my part, but I subscribe to the notion the Steeler’s problems begin and end with the absence of Troy Polamalu. The guy is everywhere on defense – runs and covers like a corner and hits like a linebacker. He appears to be the heartbeat of their team – without their leader they are very beatable. Since he’s not playing again this week, I like our chances and Jermichael Finley should have a field day against Tyrone Carter / Ryan Clark!

Given the Polamalu situation, I’m also going to agree with the premise that TT needs to address the Nick Collins contract – he’s too important to risk angering with the non-capped six-year free agent provision! I had previously been against paying Nick Collins in excess of the $3.85M he’s making this year, but can’t justify paying NC less than the $5M+ given Brandon Chillar. I really like Chillar but that contract is still a head-scratcher to me…

  • iccyfan

I see Roy and I are thinking alike again!

  • JeffN

The Steeler’s have lost 5 straight they are the same calibur that the Pack was last year. This is this year. I don’t care if it’s injuries or what it is they just are not that good right now and the Pack is the better team right now and it is expected that the Pack win.

And yes Nick Collins needs a long term contract. We need all of Bigby and Collins, we don’t want to have the next guy on the list as a starter, whether it be injury or contract, long term or short. We need all of Collins and Bigby, now and into the future.

  • roy jamison

Don’t get your point, Roy. We were a 5-5 team before the skid. This year we were 4-4 before the surge, but 3 of our losses are to Div leaders. Interesting thread is that we lost to BUCs twice in a row. Go figure.

  • Larry

TT still has cap and 3 games, I’m sure we’ll see some more signings this month. Not sure if its Collins or not. Hope to see fast Willie Parker play on Sunday…he may be the next speed back for GB…just saying..

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Well, Larry, he sure qualifies as the speed back I’m looking for but he has been so damned injury prone. Kinda does the same stuff as Grant tho, up, zip, gone! Has he ever finished a season?
    ,

  • Pack4life

Lets fix the engine (the Oline) and worry about the tires (RBs) later.

  • ScottS

What are the odds that the Packers and Cardinals will play each other two weeks in a row?

  • Pack4life

Another Viking defender was busted for Roids today. Erin Henderson brother of starter E.J. Henderson.

  • Larry

Odds of Arizona and GB twice are good..although it may depend on who wins game 16. By that time we will have locked the 5 seed but Philly and Ariz will have to settle the 3/4 seed over the next few weeks. I’m betting Arizona for game 16 and playoff.

  • Pete H

I still stand by my week after week assesment. This team still doesn’t know how to put a team away. Mccarthy still calls a horseshit game with a lead. This team is way good enough to beat anyone…yes anyone out there, but not when they get a lead and then simply play to keep it. You look at this winning streakand they have absolutely demolished teams stat wise, yet most of the games have gotten close in the second half. Even the damn Lions had a shot until Woodson stepped in. Its ridiculous! The offense is intended to score, not run clock. They did not just go about their business when the tide turned Al, they closed up shop. The only thing they did in the second half was score from the 11 yard line after the horrible pick by Cutler. MM can’t just keep depending on Capers to hold up every and any lead the offense gets. Call plays to score TDs!!! please

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

You might ease up a bit, Pete H; while you might not like it its by design. There are two ways to run out the clock. While I tend to agree that we’re generally TOO conservative on O w/ the lead, I sure prefer what we’re trying to do as opposed to that stupid Prevent Defense. Better to do it MMs way, but put in a wrinkle now and then.

  • 4205

I’m still shocked we are even talking about playoffs and Pittsburgh as a potential win. I was prepared to write the season off after the Tampa debacle, but continued to tell myself four losses was ok (even if I didn’t believe it).

MM is still learning as a head coach – has led to a couple close losses over the last couple years. I think that is where Tomlin and he lack of head coach experience is also. But I do think he is learning and has the confidence of the players which is the most important thing.

  • iccyfan

LT – Pete H addressed his concerns regarding the OFFENSE, namely that MM’s playcalling is akin to hooking a thoroughbred horse to a milkcart. Pete wants the horse to run unencombered!

You respond with, “I sure prefer what we’re trying to do as opposed to that stupid Prevent Defense. Better to do it MMs way, but put in a wrinkle now and then.” What does that mean? Are you of the opinion that aggressive offensive playcalling with the lead AND an attacking defense are mutually exclusive?

Per one of the articles on the main page, the Packers haven’t scored an offensive TD in the opening possession of the third quarter since 2007 and are averaging 2.8 points in the third quarter over that span. Pete’s absolutely right – the second half slow-downs (leading into melt-downs) killed the Packers last season and if not corrected, could cost them again this year! Please MM, let the horse run!!!

  • Larry

I’m with Iccy and Pete….Q3 needs to be wide open..I’m all for resting players when we can. Cliffy, Pickett, Grant, Rodgers, Woodson are really critical and a little mop-up time rest is a good thing and quite franly, Flynn, Lang, Raji, and young CB’s need the work.

Jackson and Green are more than capable to run the clock out if called upon. Plus 2 of the final 3 are in bad weather stadiums..to pull a hammy slipping around would be tragic.

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Number one, iccy, the subject was protecting a lead, not game strategy. Number two point was that MM is too conservative in play calling after he gets a lead, which I subscribe to. Number three is that we were talking about late in the game not the opening of the third quarter.
Your second paragraph makes no sense whatever, in that aggressive AND attacking are one in the same.
The problem is not that MM starts the second half exactly the way he starts the first half; the problem is that the other coaching staffs seem to make the adjustments, whereas it seems like MM never does. Exclude Capers; he now has the talent in the places he wants so that he makes changes on the fly. I think he does a better job of opposition analysis than MM does. He is a top flight DC worth every penny, but is not HC material.

  • Pete H

Its not about resting people. They can rest whoever they want. The backyups on offense are more than capable. It is the playcalling. offtackle, offtackle, crappy pass attempt, punt. Maybe they get in Fg range…if they do they sit on it…Crosby misses and here we are. It is the same as last year. Last year the defense let them down constantly, this year they aren’t. What iccy and I are saying is to pound the shit out of them so evenif the D gives up some crap, it doesn’t cost them. Demoralize someone so that by the 4th Q they know they have no shot in hell. How is it that when we are down in the second half, ala Minn, they can score almost at will to get back in it, yet with the lead they look like the Rams. I just want them to keep scoring TDs whenever possible. It doesn’t have to be a crazy risky scheme. Rodgers has kept the ball safe all season. Just open it up a little. Get it to where you can safely rest the guys come the 4th. As I said, this team can beat ANYONE out there. MM just doesn’t coach like he thinks they can

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Nothing to argue about in the 10:49 in my opinion. Cannot understand why we have no fire (usually) in the third quarter. Sure would like to know what goes on in that locker room during the half time break. I think the break is to be used for assistants making adjustments and implementing scheme changes not for resting, although I’ll allow some taping adjustments, OK?

  • iccyfan

LarryTex Says: “Your second paragraph makes no sense whatever, in that aggressive AND attacking are one in the same.”

I asked you if you thought aggressive offense and attacking defense were mutually exclusive because you appeared to opine that running out the clock (ie – conservative offense) is OK so long as we’re not playing prevent defense. It’s not a difficult concept.

As for your “points”, I’ve re-read your reply to Pete and nobody but you would be able to infer that follow-up from your disjointed initial entry into the fray. Have a fine day, o’ self-appointed Defender of the Realm!

  • Pack4life

Who is the leading receiver for the Packers in yards per catch? Its Spencer Havner. In the redzone Why not use 2 and three TE sets? (LeRoy Butler is asking the same question). MM learned to coach under Shottenheimer. This garbage holding the ball etc all goes back to Martyball. No innovation at all, Capers is still rolling out new packages. We have 3 fullbacks maybe use a two FB set? MM still doesnt realize the type of RB Grant is. Of the top 20 RBs in the NFL Grant has the lowest average. He is a feast or famine back. He isnt elusive, and everyone in the league knows it so handing him the rock up 2 scores isnt a smart move. Play action Mike! Havner maybe?
Releasing Sutton still haunts us. Can you imagine defenses trying to chase that guy around especially in the 4th quarter. TT doesnt escape culpability here as well, He was on those Bum Phillips teams that couldnt beat Oakland or Pittsburgh. He has put a good not great roster together. The lack of killer instinct is very bad, no Cutlers and Staffords will be in the playoffs to help out.

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Not difficult, iccy. The first paragraph of your 10:12 had me so confused that I mis-read (or rather, read too quickly) your second. I saw “aggressive offense” and “attacking offense”, sorry. What you are calling “conservative offense” I call ball control and its used all the time. My point was I prefer that to the “prevent” defense which I think stinks and very seldom really works.
Goes without saying that neither should be used in the third quarter.
My support for Murphy and Thompson is solid; McCarthy, not so much. I don’t have a solid understanding of what Philbin’s role is. Is MM calling the plays or is he yea/naying Philbin’s calls? My original understanding of the role playing was that the OC calls the O game and the DC calls the D. MM’s role was to oversee (what ever that means), inspire, approve the game plan, and develop the young QBs.
I am definitely a “self-appointed Defender of the Realm!”, but not all the pieces. I judge the “Realm” to be more than the Troika, but does include the Troika.
Hope that clears it up a little for you, iccy.

  • Pack4life

Good running teams like the Jet & Dolphins even the Cards have someone with an O line Background as their “running game coordinator” Hmmn but we need Two new tackles at least and a back that has some moves. I have never understood MM Philbin and obviously Campen. Good thing about this week we wont have to worry about getting a big lead. Also we better not even attempt an FG hat Heinz period.

  • Jeff

The Packers have just insured a victory in Pittsburgh , the idiot Adam Schefter has picked the Steelers.
This man had something against the Packers yes, but everytime he picks them to lose, they win.
He picked them to lose to Dallas , San Francisco ,and he got on the air last week on ESPN radio in Chicago and gave all the reasons for the Bears to beat the Packers.

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

One additional point to make in my role as Defender. Crosby! Currently ranked #5 NFL and #3 NFC. A cold weather background. 19 for 20 under 40yds, 34/35 PATs (top rated kicker has two missed PATs). Trouble spot is that right hash. 5 for 12 over 40, not good. Most points in NFL history first two years.
For those of you who want a replacement, the latest guy available is a 78% kicker who was fired from his last job for going 2 for 6.
Thanks for the title, iccy, this is going to be easy.
By the way, as an aside, Crosby has a 52 yarder at PIT (Heinz Field).

  • iccyfan

If I had EVER called for Crosby’s head, I guess I’d take umbrage at that comment. Fortunately I’m a Big XII fan and watched Crosby beat my alma mater with a 58 yarder in cold temps. I still think Crosby is a good kicker, albeit in a bit of a slump.

For the record, Jarrett Bush at nickelback is still my greatest concern, though his play hasn’t been costly since the Tampa Bay game. Possibly my fears are without foundation…

  • http://jlworden1suddenlink.net LarryTex

Wasn’t aimed at you, iccy, it just occurred to me that he isn’t kicking as good as he did in college and seems to be slipping from “07 and ’08. I haven’t checked the details though. It was brought out on this site a while ago that they were tinkering with him – who really knows? In any case his record puts him in the top five I guess.

  • Larry

Iccyfan a true Bush believer….I can die in peace….take me Lord (after the Pittsburgh game)

  • Pack4life

I just know they tinkered with Crosby in the preseason and he hasnt been the same. He used to get touchbacks. He didnt have a touchback last time we played at Detroit. I would like to know why Slocum is even being kept around. Bring back the glory days of Mike Stock :-)

  • packer_bob

All I can say is, WOW, what a difference in 5 games. The tenor of this thread would have been unthinkable just a short time ago.

Those of you writing the Steelers off had best think again. They are at home and have some pride to recover, I’m expecting a very tough game.

Whoever said we need to fix the O line and worry about the tires later (the Rbs) is dead on balls accurate. We are an aging tackle injury away from being in the same horrible protection boat we were in the first half of the season. I’m very upbeat about the way the Packers are trending right now, but that could sure change in a flash. Imagine where we’d be if Woodson got hurt, for example.

I share the reservations about MM, but like it or not, he’s what we’ve got for the forseeable future. I’ve been hard on TT, and I take back nothing regarding my past beefs with him, but he has clearly given us some great young talent and I can’t take that away from him.

Looking forward to how this season plays out and seeing if we can make some noise in the playoffs. Even if we’re one and done, I see no reason not to think we are a team on the rise. That being the case, I think it’s really important we do some things in the off season to put us in a position to win it all in a short window–I still think we’re a little away from being a credible SB team, though we certainly look closer now than I would have hoped for 5 games ago!

  • AATP

According to some lines they have the Steelers favored by 1 – normal home field advantage gives 3. So on a neutral field the Packers by 2. This will NOT be an easy win and I believe we have a chance to blow this one in Pittsburgh… I’m hoping to be proven extremely wrong and the Pack blows them out at home. But when the odds are that narrow it makes me nervous – the odds makers see something we don’t even with Palomalou out.

  • roy jamison

The odds makers are gonna make a ton of dough especially if that game winds up a push. I’m sure many of you may have experiences with how good those guys are! But a win at Pittsburg would give me encouragement similar to how the Giants won on the road and kept winning.

  • Devil’s Advocate…

Things I’ve been thinking……….. I was thinking this week how I liked the cheese sticks the fans had a few games ago. Reminded me of the terrible towel. Hope there’s more of that type of thing.
Thinking that the Steeler’s game is not a big deal. They’re a good team, win or lose, as long as it’s a close game it shouldn’t matter, I’d think. And the Pack should have enough wins for the playoffs either way. Then it is a four game season at that point anyway. Just need to stay healthy.
I’m thinking MM has a plan this year…… called “copy of 2007″.
Find it interesting how Jolly’s case can have gone through the court, been dropped and refiled in they same amount of time they have done next to nothing w/the roid boys’ case. Something smelly there!!!!!!!
Think we’ll be missing Kampman in the playoffs unless Jones steps it up a bunch. You could always count on Kampy to be around around the QB in 4-5 seconds if not a little sooner. Will miss Harris as well. No weak spots w/him back there.
Thinking it looks like Collins has earned a new contract as well as a few others. It’ll be interesting to see how that all plays out. Then in the draft, it would seem TT needs to get a stud or two in the right places and we should be good. Kinda got his depth taken care of. Maybe a F/A, if one is out there……….. Pickett and Woodson have been great additions!!!
Last, as I read all the comments everywhere about getting a new kicker, I just have to wonder?????? So who do all these people think we should get. Could they garuntee that that person wouldn’t have a slump or keep an 80% plus FG rate???? I doubt it!!! Better look close, cause while Crosby hasn’t been spectacular, he hasn’t been terrible over the last two/three years either. With a little seasoning he may may become special, then everyone would bitch how TT let him get away!!!!
Guess it’s time for my pick………………. even a close lose is a victory as I see it. Pittsburg will be in a mood and will be coming off a ten day rest. Most of me wants to pick Pitt. for all those reasons, but from somewhere is coming 34-31, Packers win!!!!

  • AATP

Strangely enough I’m optimistic and want to be reserved regarding the game tomorrow. I call it one of two ways – first, the Packers win and really have the game won in the second quarter but play conservative in the second half allowing the Steelers to make it a close game (Cardiac Kids) OR second, the Steelers pull out a win in a close one. Scoring will be scarce I think. I believe this game will look eerily like the Cowboys game – low score, defensive stands and he who scores first wins. I would prefer a blow-out early and a strong defensive stand in the second half – maybe a pick six – to ice the game and put it out of reach, but my gut is telling me this will be won in the trenches and Grant will churn out some yards against an excellent run D in the Steelers keeping the score low through clock management. WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO HAVE A TON OF FLAGS OR ANY TURNOVERS – PERIOD. They must play a complete and error free game to run away with this one. GO PACK!!

Now, with all that, I do agree that a close loss is as good as a win but when we meet up with AZ we must win that one IMHO. I know, I’m overlooking Seattle, but that one will be a MUST WIN, no matter what if they plan to make any kind of run going into the play-offs. We lose that one and my play-off hopes diminish drastically. One and done becomes our new nickname at point IMO.

Whats that thing about “fear itself”?
I judge by these posts that we “fear” PIT more because of their reputation of tough WRs, Big Ben, and Heinz Field, than what they bring TO the field today. About the only thing they have going for them is the pride of having the most recent ring.
Granted that is a motivator, but its not as great as the motivation to attain one. (ie, a ring) Keep Ben in the pocket and contain their OLBs. They have experience but we have desire (I would think).
Man for man we’re just in better shape; scheme for scheme probably equal, but their losses of starters were greater than ours. This is one game where our “youth” probably works in our favor.
AATP is realistic but as usual I’m more optimistic. We have been overcoming our errors of late and thats what good teams do – overcome. Yesterday, I happened upon a video telecon between Bradshaw, Johnson, Long, and Strahan. All very positive to the extent that Jimmy was even saying how excellently coached we were. Imagine that, after all the criticizing I do. Strange to hear.
They liked the Pack, even Terry!

Funny how Grant runs the ball better as the O line has improved. Grant could and should end the reg season with 1300+ yards…Is RB the priority WE think in the off-season????

The Pittsburgh game should may be an indication.

Ruh Ro Raggy… starting 3 and Out is not a good start – the Pack looks a little tight today so far… AND BUSH DOES IT AGAIN!!!

Down by 7 in less then a minute… I’m not sayin’ just sayin’ – Bush is NOT the answer to our DB woes… McCarthy should chew his ass out and bench his ass now…
