Packers-Lions Game Blog

OK, two penalties on the Lions the first two plays of the game. Almost like the refs are making up for something?

12:14 PM:  Defense looks shaky so far. What up with that?

12:18 PM:  The Packers’ get a break when the receiver falls down and A.J. Hawk makes a pick. At least the linebackers can catch even if the secondary can’t. Packers ball first and ten.

12:25 PM:  Our short yardage offense is horrible, just missed a 2nd and 2, and a 3rd and 2. Why are you running the ball with no running game? McCarthy should be shot for that play calling. Add a 12-yard punt and heads need to roll! A 12-yard punt!!!!! Joe Philbin may be coach by halftime!

12:30 PM:  Oops, it is now a 21-yard punt, probably raised his average.

12:33 PM:  The Packers’ defense looks like crap. How can the No. 1 defense in the NFC look this bad against one of the worst offenses in history? What does McCarthy have to do? Now you know why I was so nervous. The Packers are playing not to lose.

12:38 PM:  7-7! Lambeau is quit now. The Packers did not come to play, a serious hangover from last week. This is not good folks.

12:45 PM:  Wow! Three and out by the Packers’ offense! The Lions came to play today, they are completely dominating.

12:48 PM:  The Packers have a bad history against winless teams and the Lions are not playing like one. This drive is huge.

12:53 PM:  Maybe the Lions are trying to beat the Packers’ 18 penalties of last week or the refs are in payback mode. Either way the Packers are not playing well, we have no answer for their d-line.

12:56 PM:  An unbelievable pass to Finley for the TD. Wow! Big play there, 14-7 Pack.

1:01 PM:  Injuries mounting up on defense, but the Packers force a punt.

1:05 PM:  It is time for the Packers to just quit trying to run the ball, it’s like trying to get water from a rock. TD pass to Jennings and its 21-7 Pack. Pour it on now and erase our doubts about this team.

1:15 PM:  Packers’ defense must have taken the Lions for granted because they are not looking good at all. Woodson looks like he’s lost a step and the Packers seem to have no answer for the Lions’ offense.

1:23 PM:  Johnson completed the process that time, beat Woodson and Martin. The Packers did not come to play today. One hell of a play from Johnson, though, might be the best receiver in the NFL.

1:48 PM:  Charles Woodson redeems himself and might have saved the day! Packers lead 28-14 after Woodson’s spectacular 48-yard interception and run.

2:11 PM:  Packers just love shooting themselves in the foot I guess. A Rodgers interception now. Who does he think he is?

2:16 pM:  The Packers simply can’t stop the Lions, now a quarterback scramble for 30 yards. This is a very scary 14-point lead.

2:24 PM:  This game is getting scary, the Packers look bad in all areas. Offense, defense, special teams. I can’t believe it.

2:28 PM:  What is wrong with the Packers; defense, now a personal foul late hit, the Packers have lost their composure and this game is in serious jeopardy. The Packers’ offense can’t do a thing and the defense is getting tired. Get ready for the McCarthy firing talk.

2:32 PM:  With no running game the Packers can’t run the clock, I say just empty the backfield and throw the ball on every play. It would be nice to at least get a first down. The defense sucks and is tired, it’s up to the offense right now.

2:34 PM:  Lions are about to take the lead. The Packers have lost to the worst team in the NFL! Fumble on the kickoff. Give it up gentleman. McCarthy has to go.

2:42 PM:  Game over. Let the fall out begin. Rodgers is no Favre, McCarthy is an idiot. Hard to argue it right now.

2:48 PM:  What a sad day. All the Packers had to do was beat the lowly Lions to stay in the race. And they couldn’t do it.

2:55 PM:  Why are the Packers trying to run the ball?!!!! Throw, throw, throw throw!

3:03 PM:  Watch Crosby miss this.

3:04 PM:  Kuhn makes the play of the game and the Packers win! They just got their ass kicked but they won the game. Just like the Bears last week. The Lions out-gained the Packers by 200 yards and lost! 3-1 and humbly move on.
