Bears might be due

The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears are playing the biggest game of their 2014 season. With the way things have played out over the first eight games the loser of this game is pretty much dead meat.

Yes, the Packers are 5-3 and the Bears are 3-5, but a Bears’ win in Lambeau would pretty much put the both teams out of the NFC North division title race and both in the NFC wildcard race. The Lions are unlikely, in my mind anyway, to relinquish control of the division over the second half so if the Bears beat the Packers both the Packers and Bears will be fighting for a wildcard berth at best.

After watching the Packers for eight games I just don’t think they are very good. Certainly not on defense. They practiced all offseason on playing a 4-3 defense and that was a total flop and hasn’t been used since week two. So basically they spent six months working on a defense they aren’t even playing eight weeks into the season.

The Bears are a replica of the Packers, all offense and no defense. When two teams like this meet anything can happen and usually it comes down to turnovers. For the last five years Jay Cutler has been the reason the Packers have beaten the Bears on a regular basis. At some point, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn. That acorn could very well be Sunday night.

Because of recent history I just think the Bears are due to win this game. No way they can possibly lose again to the Packers. Bear fan might become suicidal if that happens. I think the Packers will save a lot of lives and lose to the Bears 41-35.
