Packers stumble into playoffs

The Green Bay Packers and their anemic offense looked lost again last night against the Vikings, once again failing to do its part and wasting yet another good defensive performance. Penalties, missed blocks, dropped passes and sacks continued to hobble the offense, and it’s clear Aaron Rodgers is rattled by the intense pressure he has been under recently.

Next Sunday the Packers will face the league’s 28th ranked defense in the Redskins and the early forecast is 52 and rain so the Packers will at least feel right at home. They have won four out their five rainy games this year. The Redskins’ offense is ranked 17th in the league but has been on fire during their season ending four-game winning streak. The Packers will need to score at least in the 20s to win this one, which hasn’t been easy for the them this year.

Now that the Packers have already screwed themselves out of a much needed decent draft choice they might as well win the whole thing. Guess I would just be happy to win one and make it farther than the Vikings, who I think will get crushed again by the Seahawks Sunday.

There is no sense looking back. Not much anybody can add after last night’s game. It is what it is. However, it’s a win-win next week for the Packers. Win and they play another week, lose and they get a jump on fixing the many things that need fixing. We’ll get into that later in the week.
