Packers Lose Julius Peppers, Signs with Panthers

The attrition continues. According to Julius Peppers’ agent, the 37 year old will be heading back to Carolina.

Although it’s been an expected move for some time, the loss of Julius Peppers is a painful one. Julius Peppers has been in the league since 2002 when he was drafted second overall by the Carolina Panthers.

His career numbers are staggering so bear with me as we go over them…

Peppers has played in 234 games over his 15 year career. He has totaled 518 tackles and 143.5 sacks (5th in NFL history). Julius forced 47 fumbles and recovered 18 of them. He has 11 picks for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns.

As a Packer he amassed 74 tackles, 25 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and 4 recoveries.

His body of work is truly incredible and it’s an honor to have had him on the team.

In honor of the legend, Julius Peppers, let us all marvel at the man, the myth and the legend.
