With the quarter mark of the season now behind us, most teams have started to find their identity for the year. The new members have come together with the existing squad and there has been enough time for the players to get a deeper understanding of the brand of football their team will be structured around for the season.

Unfortunately for the Packers though, this has not been the case so far this year. Green Bay have been hit with a barrage of injuries resulting in constant lineup reshuffling, and it’s proving quite difficult for Coach Mike McCarthy to create some regularity on the field.

On the positive side, the Packers currently have a 3-1 record a quarter of the way through the season. What’s even better is that they are only going to become stronger once their starters rejoin the squad and get back to full fitness.

It’s an extremely encouraging sign for the team, that even with their long list of injuries, they are still favorites to win their NFC North division and even the NFC Championship. The Falcons are the only team to beat Green Bay this term but still sit behind them as the second favorite in the conference. According to the latest NFL odds on bet365 the Packers are +350 with the Falcons sitting back on +425 to win the NFC.

But what the team really has its sights set on is, of course, the Super Bowl. Green Bay hasn’t won the trophy since 2010 and will still be hurting from their last campaign when they came agonizingly close to making the final showdown, only to succumb to the Falcons in the NFC Championship game 44-21.

For the Packers to make that final push this season they’re going to need their players to hurry back for the sidelines.

In the offensive line, starting tackles Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari are yet to line up alongside each other. As well as receivers Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison who have all spent some time off the field in the last month.

Defensively they haven’t been hit quite as hard, but it has definitely had an impact. Nick Perry was sidelined after surgery on his hand, and Davon House and Mike Daniels have both missed multiple games. As it stands so far, Blake Martinez is the only inside linebacker who has been fit the entire time. Amazingly enough, though, the Packers’ defense still ranks an impressive sixth in the league.

While speaking with the press, quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that the team is currently disjointed.  He also mentioned that due to the constant rotation there was still lots in the 2017 playbook that they haven’t been able to execute on the field.

With the constant shuffling and injury prone players, it’s hard to see who the team is going to build their main plays around. However, they have dealt with their circumstances exceptionally well, and if a few key players come back into the squad soon, the Packers are going to be a massive threat to other teams this season.
