Packers need to keep rolling

The Green Bay Packers face the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in their second division game of the year. Having won three games in a row the Packers have two winnable games ahead of them heading into the bye week. First up is the Vikings and then the Saints at home.

Two wins by the Packers and you should probably check out Sportsbook Odds and place a bet on the Packers in the Super Bowl. 6-1 at the by would be pretty sweet. And would be the best record in the NFC.

But first things first. The Vikings are never an easy out, especially in Minnesota. While this year’s Vikings’ team has been hit hard by injuries on offense, their defense can and probably will keep this a close game. The Vikings will be without starting quarterback Sam Bradford, running back Dalvin Cook and their best wide receiver in Stefon Diggs.

The Vikings defense is still the same old formidable group that head coach Mike Zimmer has put out there for years. Back to his days in Cincinnati, Zimmer’s teams always have a top defense. The Packers were able to have some success in recent years with a running game to take the pressure off Aaron Rodgers. Oddly enough, Eddie Lacy had some of his best games against the Vikings.

The Packers may get Ty Montgomery back this week and if he and rookie Aaron Jones can keep the running game going, it will take the heat off of Rodgers. I still think the Packers must have a quick strike passing attack against the Vikings’ pass rush. We saw the slant a little more last week and I hope we see it even more this week.

The Packers’ defense should be able to keep the Case Keenum-led offense in check. I’ll say Packers win 24-13.
