Packers not crying about their problems

One thing the Packers’ players have absorbed from their coach is Mike McCarthy’s attitude toward injuries, which basically is “so what, injuries are a part of the NFL.” Their are no low-hanging heads or a woe-is-me attitude. From backup quarterback Matt Flynn on down the feeling is the next guy up can get the job done. Time will tell if that’s true, but I like the attitude.

Attitude is everything in life to me, if you think you are going to fail then you already have. Go out into the world with a positive attitude and you will have success, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. If the Packers take that attitude toward the remainder of the season and don’t lose anybody else, they can still have success this year. It might not be the kind of success they wanted, but it can still be a successful season.

The Packers must be thinking that way too if they are going to try and hold roster spots for both Jermichael Finley and Nick Barnett. The only reason  to do so is to have both available late in the year for a playoff push. I think that might be tough to do so if either of them show any signs of a setback or a longer recovery time they are done, so this will probably be a week-to-week thing.

At least for this week I have a good feeling, at least that is if Aaron Rodgers is a go, which appears to be the case barring a setback. The Packers are at Lambeau Field, the forecast looks great and the fans will be electric. They know their team and the problems they are having so I think they will be a tad sympathetic. Kind of like rooting for the underdog.

I’m not sure how they are going to do it. Will the offense finally explode? Will the defense throw up a score or two? Maybe even a miracle occurs and the Packers return a kick or punt for a touchdown. Or any combination of the above. One way or the other, I think they will be able to get a win over the Fins. 4-2 with all the adversity would be a great thing.

3-3 means the Packers would likely be under .500 at the halfway point of what was supposed to be a Super Bowl year. But let’s not worry about that if we don’t have to. I can’t wait for Sunday, for some odd reason, confidence is high.
