Revisiting the last ten games

As we all know, the Green Bay Packers 2017 season has been turned upside down with the injury to Aaron Rodgers. The Packers have ten games left, 11 weeks, including the bye, and may get Rodgers back late in the year. I’m guessing the reason Rodgers is having surgery is to speed up the healing process because it is his throwing shoulder. He may return, but the odds are long.

With that said, I’m going to take a quick look at the Packers remaining schedule and adjust accordingly. NFL football odds have already changed dramatically, a testament to Rodgers’ greatness. But I think the Packers will be able to hold there own. Here we go.

Week 7 – Saints in Lambeau – OK, the first game is going to be a tough one for Brett Hundley. The reason being is I don’t think the Packers’ defense can keep the Saints in check, which means a shootout. If Hundley can win a game like that, the Packers may have nothing to worry about. I think it will be close, but Saints probably get the win. (4-3)

Week 9 – Lions at Lambeau – This will be Hundley’s first win as a starter. Monday Night Football. The Lions’ defense is not good and I think Hundley will be coming off a good game against the Saints. This will be his coming out party and shut up some of the critics saying the Packers are done. (5-3)

Week 10 – at Chicago – Shouldn’t be much of an issue here, but the Bears are playing better. Short week, but Packers should still win. (6-3)

Week 11 – Ravens at Lambeau – The Ravens are hard to predict, but they are not a good team. Should be no problem. (7-3)

Week 12 – at Pittsburgh – Not happening. Just hope Hundley doesn’t get hurt. (7-4)

Week 13 – Bucs in Lambeau – The Bucs have been terrible on the road so far, and Lambeau in December doesn’t bode well for them. (8-4)

Week 14 – at Cleveland – (9-4)

Week 15 – at Carolina (9-5)

Week 16 – Vikings at Lambeau – Tough one to call. I’ll take the Vikings again. That defense is a beast. (9-6)

Week 17 – at Detroit – Could be another game for the division title. Maybe Rodgers is back. But if Hundley is still upright and the Packers are doing good, I’ll take the Pack. (10-6)

Of course, this all based on the fact that I think Hundley will be a capable backup and the Packers as a team come together. Rodgers’ slogan all season has been ‘no excuses’ and I’m betting he hammers that home in light of his injury.

I say they get at least a wildcard bid to keep their playoff streak alive. And anything can happen then. We’re not done yet.
